What happens in Third World countries is hardly known in the West because of (deliberately?) poor information in the major media. The issue of debt cancellation and of the necessary withdrawal of SAPs is now on the agenda of several organisations (not only NGOs and associations directly concerned with North/South solidarity, or the jubilee 2000 coalitions).
