Mesage from a representative of the Workers' Party (PT)/Jubilee 2000 campaign in Brazil

Message from Acción Ecológica: Peoples and countries of Third World are CREDITORS OF ECOLOGICAL DEBT! And this it is the appropriate moment to lift our voices and to evidence the looting that our peoples and countries have suffered and are suffering for North industrialized countries and their transnational corporations.

On behalf of CONGAD and its partners, Jubilee South, CADTM and CNCD, we have the pleasure in inviting you to participate in the Pan-African and International Conference on African and Third World Debt (Dakar 2000: From Resistance to Alternatives), which will take place from 11-17 December, 2000 in Dakar, Senegal.

Developing a coherent strategy for the anti-debt movement is urgent with many campaigns particularly in the North looking to the South to provide a strategic focus for the campaign now that the end of 2000 is fast approaching. Already a number of Coalitions in the North are preparing to close and continue the campaign in new forms.
